Peru has been one of the countries hardest hit by the COVID 19 pandemic during the last two years. In 2020 we held the first version of the Lima Open to reach out to the people who need it most and demonstrate the solidarity of the X-Wing community worldwide.
Thanks to the support of the people who participated in our events and donated during the live broadcast on November 28 and 29, we raised 3,000 USD allocated to the La Casa de Todos initiative, which seeks to build houses for people with limited resources.

This year we want to announce that we are joining CARE Peru, one of the most prestigious humanitarian organizations around the world, to address a problem that requires our attention: the inequality experienced by girls and adolescents in areas far from the large cities of Peru.
The goal now is to exceed the 2020 figure to support the ‘Girls with Opportunities’ initiative. We want to help thousands of girls access an education that prepares them for the future, removing them from situations of poverty and vulnerability that destroy their dreams.

Why do we need your support?
In Peru, girls from areas far from the big cities have fewer possibilities to access education, lack of connection to the internet system and technological equipment for their education.
102.000 students would have dropped out of school in 2020 due to financial problems. This figure is estimated to rise to 700,000 by 2022.
87% of households in remote areas do not have internet access to carry out virtual classes for school-age boys and girls.
Girls who lose their studies are at higher risk of falling into poverty, suffering from a mental health illness, and being victims of violence.
What is the area of impact of CARE Peru?
CARE Peru’s ‘Girls with Opportunities’ has been working since 2016 so adolescent students from rural areas in Lima, Amazonas, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, and Huancavelica complete high school at the appropriate age and with life skills. To achieve this, they articulate joint efforts with the State, teachers, students, and families.
